All graduating students must receive an Authorization to Begin Closeout Process form from their Group Practice Leader (GPL). The authorization form is a checklist of items students must complete to clear from the school. Each student should return the form to their GPL, who will then inform the student when to pick up the closeout form from Robert Kim, Business Office, located in 4B22.
Each student must have completed the closeout process prior to commencement in order to receive a diploma.
Students will receive an email during Winter and Spring Quarters 2020 to complete a survey to participate in commencement and to order their regalia. There is no charge to students to rent the academic regalia (cap, gown, hood, and tassel). Replacement cost if rentals are not returned are $370.90 (Doctor), $249.80 (Master), and $191.90 (Bachelor).
Regalia rentals shall be distributed by the Office of Academic Affairs around June 1, 2020.
Students may invite their parents who are dentists or alumni of the Dugoni School of Dentistry to participate in their on-stage hooding as they walk the stage to receive their diploma. Answer the questions about hooding when completing the Application for Commencement sent to your email address.
Each graduate receives their diploma alphabetically within their respective degree program. To ensure that candidates get the correct diploma and that the proper name is read, each candidate is assigned a specific seat. The seating assignments will be listed below to determine which section, row and seat number you have been assigned. Please check back in June for the PDFs to view.
Students should plan to arrive at least one hour before the start of the ceremony. The ceremony begins at 2:00 pm at The Masonic on 1111 California Street in San Francisco. The garage at the Masonic will charge $35 for parking or you can use other public garages in the area. Please give yourself extra travel time due to expected heavier traffic around the Masonic.
