Flu Advisory

The School of Dentistry encourages everyone in the school community to practice healthy habits for the safety of all. The school is monitoring the H1N1 ("swine flu") outbreak and sharing guidelines and best practices through on-campus awareness programs, informational meetings and web resources. Please check back regularly for updated information and messages about flu.

Important tips on how to stay healthy

  1. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. Alcohol-based hand rubs are also effective.
  2. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue into the trash after use. If tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your sleeve at the elbow.
  3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  4. Stay home if you are ill to prevent the spread to others. If you have a fever of over 101 degrees, you should call your physician.
  5. Encourage your patients who feel ill to delay dental treatment until their symptoms resolve.
