Dear Colleague:
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your president for the 2010-2011 term. I am honored to lead an alumni board whose talent and dedication keeps us at the forefront of dental school alumni associations.
Our 2010 Annual Meeting was extremely successful. The attendance far surpassed our previous year and a majority of you took advantage of online registration. You can view meeting photos at Shutterfly. To all who attended, thank you for your continued support.
Save the dates of March 4-5, 2011 for our 2011 Annual Meeting and please encourage your colleagues to be part of our great Alumni Association. The 2011 meeting, themed Passport to Excellence, will proudly boast an array of nationally and internationally recognized speakers including Drs. Clifford Ruddle, Jon Suzuki, Jeff Brucia and Mark Hyman as headliners. The required courses in dental law and infection control will be offered as well.
In moving forward, I want to continue our mission to foster lifelong relationships among all alumni. I especially encourage the International Dental Students (IDS) and dental hygiene students, and the Orthodontic, AEGD and Oral Surgery residents to be active members of our association. With increased involvement and support, our association can grow even stronger. Membership matters!
I also urge all of you to participate in our mentorship program as an additional way to support our dental students — the next generation of oral health care providers. We help our graduating student procure patients for their board exams and provide matching funds for their class gift to the school. Our students at the Dugoni School of Dentistry are the best and the brightest and they are already giving back. We, as one of the leading alumni associations in the nation, help facilitate their progress.
